1862 25 Cent Fractional Note From The Civil War - First Issue - Choose Fine Or Better Or Extremely Fine Or Better Condition

Fractional Currency also known as postage currency was first issued in 1862 as a response to widespread hoarding of small change during the Civil War. This first issue features brown printing and images of five cent Thomas Jefferson stamps on the obverse. Printed in five separate issues, Fractional Currency circulated up until 1876 as has proved to be very popular with collectors.
