The 2006 release of a similar design 1/2 ounce coin sold out quickly and prices rose just as quick. The reverse wolf design is the work of Royal Canadian Mint Engraver William Woodruff. The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, first seen in 2004 and was created by Canadian portrait artist Susanna Blunt.
