The 3,392 acre Saratoga National Historical Park preserves the site of the Battles of Saratoga. In 1777, battles between the American and British armies led to the first significant American victory of the American Revolutionary War. With the British defeated, France came to America’s aid as an ally, and eventually the Dutch and the Spanish followed suit.

Saratoga, initially considered a historic preserve, entered into the National Park System in 1938. The park offers an educational visitor center, the Battlefields, General Phillip Schuylers’s House, Saratoga Monument, and Victory Woods. Visitors can take professionally guided or self guided tours throughout the park.
