1911 Canadian Gold Sovereign NGC or PCGS MS-63

Sovereigns have been struck by the various mints under British rule since the early 1800's. This Canadian issue was minted for only ten years and can be identified by the small "C" hidden in the landscape on the reverse. These particular examples we were purchased from a European woman who kept the coins while evading Nazis during World War II! Their longevity alone has made these gold pieces some of the most popular ever minted. Each sovereign features St.George slaying a dragon on the reverse, while the obverse pictures the ruler of the period. These coins have a current trends value of $275.00 in MS-63.

Specifications: Diameter: 22.05 mm, Weight: 7.98 grams, Alloy: 22 carat gold, Actual gold content = 7.315 grams or 0.2354 troy ounces.
