2005 is the second year of the "Westward Journey" nickel series. This years second new design is the "Ocean In View" design. This nickel also features the new Jefferson portrait first used on the 2005 Buffalo nickel seen earlier in 2005, this was the first change in Jefferson's portrait since the Jefferson nickel was introduced in 1938.
