These wonderful silver coins can be considered nothing short of a work of art. The obverse is that of Alexander as represented by Herakles (Hercules). The reverse features a seated Zeus.  Each of these Tetradrachm are in very fine or better condition and for comparison is roughly the size of a U.S. half dollar. We have seen similar coins offered elsewhere for 595.00 each!


Alexander the Great was King of Macedonia and most of the known world from 336-323 B.C. His conquests are even more remarkable when it is considered he died when he was just 33 years old. Alexander was well educated, having been taught by the philosopher Aristotle.
