Marcus Aurelius Probus was a distinguished soldier and while Emperor initiated many improvements in government. He was later murdered by mutinous soldiers. Each of these coins bears the image of Probus and was issued during his reign between 276-282 AD. The about uncirculated examples we offered some time ago sold out in a hurry. The grade of these coins is the same as the about uncirculated coins we sold out of, but because of crude minting methods of the times, these tend to be a little out of round or have somewhat ragged edges. Because of this we decided to offer them all as extremely fine/about uncirculated. When you consider their age, the condition of these coins is truly amazing and the price is below what even specialists advertise them at! We have a few slightly different reverse designs available.
