1968 Proof Sets are the first of the "S" mint proof sets! Each set comes housed in its original mint holder with box. Gem proof condition. The original mintage on these was 3,041,500 sets.
Proof coins are coins struck just for collectors. The U.S. Mint uses specially prepared planchets (blanks) and dies. The coins are struck twice to give them optimum detail.
