Each of these scarce coins has the 2007 style reverse with a plain "U" in United, smaller stars and lettering farther from the rim than the new style 2008 reverse. Early estimates put the mintage of this variety at around 47,000, making it one of the rarest silver eagles! Each of these 2008-W uncirculated silver eagles was struck with a special matte (sometimes referred to as burnished)finish and has been certified as MS-70 (perfect) by The Numismatic Guarantee Corp.(NGC).
