Buffalo nickels, along with Indian cents, have perhaps been the most popular obsolete U.S. coins ever to be collected. Many budding numismatists, including ourselves started with "Buffalos" as youngsters. Today young and old alike will appreciate these scarce coins. In 2001, to honor the Buffalo nickel, the United States issued a special commemorative Buffalo silver dollar. In 2006 the one ounce gold Buffalo was issued. The Buffalo dollars have caused increased interest in these nickels, so now is the time to buy!
