We were lucky to secure a small hoard of these coins that were recently unearthed in Europe. Each is about the size of a Lincoln cent and is in virtually "as struck" condition. The condition of these coins is important as copper alloys such as these are prone to corrosion. It's not unusual for 100 year old bronze coins to be corroded beyond recognition. How did these coins stay so nice for nearly 2000 years?
The obverse features a draped bust of the emperor. The reverse shows Sol the sun god.
