Beginning in the spring of 2010, the U.S. Mint will strike 56 new quarters featuring national parks and other national sites. The new program, known as the "America the Beautiful Quarters" program, will release 5 new quarters each year starting with the Hot Springs National Park. The program is scheduled to end in 2021. As with the State Quarter and Territorial Quarter programs the National Parks Quarters will have a common obverse (front) with the reverse (back) depicting the park design.
Scheduled for release in 2011 are Gettysburg National Military Park - Pennsylvania, Glacier National Park - Montana, Olympic National Park - Washington, Vicksburg National Military Park - Mississippi, and Chickasaw National Recreation Area - Oklahoma.
