2009 American Samoa Territory Quarter Coin - P or D Mint - (UNC) Brilliant Uncirculated
- Released on 7/27/2009.
- The obverse shows a slightly modified version of the original Washington Quarter. The mint moved some of the wording previously found on the reverse to the obverse in order to make more room for the reverse design for each state. You'll find "United States of America," "In God We Trust," "Liberty," and "Quarter Dollar" all spelled out on the obverse of the quarter as well as the coin's mint mark.
- The reverse of the American Samoa Territory Quarter features an ava bowl along with a whisk and staff with a coconut tree on the shore in the background. You'll also find the words "Samoa Muamua le Atua" on the reverse of the coin, which translates to "Samoa, God is first".
- The 6 quarters released in 2009 were the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Northern Mariana Islands.
- Sovereign coin minted at the U.S. Mint and backed by the United States government with a face value of $0.25.
