2009-2019 Proof Sets
In 2007, the Presidential Dollar Coin Program was started by the U.S. Mint to honor our nationís Presidents. Therefore, Presidential Dollar Proof Sets are issued each year and contain the four Presidential Dollar coins released for the current year. Each full clad and silver proof set from 2007 onward contain all four presidential dollar releases for the current year.
In 2009, along with the clad and silver proof sets, additional clad and silver six quarter District of Columbia and U.S. Territories proof sets were issued. There were also four Lincoln Cents minted in 2009 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. The full 2009 clad and silver proof sets contain the regular mint issues, as well as the special quarters and pennies issued.
In 2010, The U.S. Mint started the America the Beautiful Quarters program to honor U.S. National Parks and historic sites, which will run through 2021. Each year five new national park quarters are released meaning that special quarter and silver quarter proof sets are also issued. Each clad and silver proof set from 2010 onward contain all five America the Beautiful releases for the current year.
