2016 America the Beautiful Quarter Proof Set With Error Packaging!
The coins in this proof set contain no errors, however, the box was misprinted by the U.S. Mint, creating a proof set with error packaging. The picture of the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park is actually a picture of a waterfall in the Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, also in Kentucky. These error proof sets carry a mintage of 12,000.
The Seventh National Park Quarters proof set! Includes the five America The Beautiful Quarters for 2016 in pristine proof condition.
The 2016 ATB issues honor: Shawnee National Forest in Illinois, Cumberland Gap National Historical Park in Kentucky, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park in West Virginia, Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota and Fort Moultrie (Fort Sumter) National Monument in South Carolina.
These 2016 ATB Quarter Proof Sets include one coin of each issue struck at the San Francisco Mint in a copper-nickel clad composition. Each set includes the original U.S. Mint box and certificate of authenticity.
United States proof coins are extraordinarily brilliant, with sharp relief and a mirror-like background. Their frosted, sculpted foregrounds give them a special cameo effect. Proof blanks are specially treated, polished and cleaned to ensure high quality strikes. The blanks are then fed into presses fitted with hand-polished dies and struck at least twice to ensure sharp relief. The coins are then packaged in presentation cases to showcase and maintain their exceptional finish.
