90% Silver - Brilliant Uncirculated Condition - Limited Mintage of 350,000 across all sets
The 2018 World War I Centennial Proof Silver Dollar was designed to commemorate the over 4 million Americans whom served in WWI. By the end of World War I in November 1918, there were over 320,000 deaths within the United States Armed Forces as a result of the war, but it was finally over. The design chosen for the obverse and reverse of the commemorative proof dollar invoke not only peace but also feelings of fearlessness and determination.
On the obverse a soldier is holding a rifle up on his right shoulder. Barbed wire is in the lower right quadrant and inscriptions “Liberty,” “In God We Trust,” and “1918 2018” is seen in the remaining quadrants. The beautifully design reverse shows poppy flowers among barbed wire with the inscriptions “ United States of America,” “One Dollar” and “E Pluribus Unum.” The obverse design is being dubbed “Soldiers Charge” while the reverse is “Poppies in the Wire.”
The WWI Uncirculated Silver Dollar consists of 90% silver and 10% copper. It comes encapsulated from the U.S. Mint with a Certificate of Authenticity and original government packaging.
