PRODUCT DETAILS:

2014 Everglades Quarter Coin - S Mint - (UNC) Brilliant Uncirculated

COIN HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Released on 11/3/2014.
  • The obverse shows a slightly modified version of the original Washington Quarter. The mint moved some of the wording previously found on the reverse to the obverse in order to make more room for the reverse design for each state. You'll find "United States of America," "In God We Trust," "Liberty," and "Quarter Dollar" all spelled out on the obverse of the quarter as well as the coin's mint mark.
  • The reverse design of the Everglades coin depicts two birds that live in the park - an anhinga with outstretched wings perched on a tree, as well as a roseate spoonbill.
  • The 5 National Parks Released in 2014 were Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee, Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, Arches National Park in Utah, Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado, and Everglades National Park in Florida.
  • Sovereign coins minted at the San Francisco Branch of the U.S. Mint and backed by the United States government, each with a face value of $0.25. The America the Beautiful Quarter Program began in 2010, but Uncirculated Quarters were not minted at San Francisco until 2012.

The Everglades National Park in Florida was established in May of 1934 and expands over 1,500,000 acres. It is home to hundreds of species of birds, fish, mammals, and reptiles including endangered and threatened species such as the American crocodile, the Florida panther, and the West Indian manatee. It is one of three locations in the world that can be found on the International Biosphere Reserve, World Heritage Site, and Wetland of International Importance lists. It sees over one million visitors each year that take advantage of the many activities it offers including boating and canoeing, biking, hiking, camping, and tram tours.

All coins come in protective plastic. Orders of 40 or more may ship in tubes.
