U.S. Mint Sets from 1959 - Current Year

United States mint sets are uncirculated coin sets that are specially packaged by the U.S. Mint for sale to coin collectors. Each official United States government mint set contains uncirculated examples of each year's coins issued for circulation. Unlike U.S. proof sets, United States mint sets contain coins that are not minted with any special considerations for quality. Coins that were minted as proof only are not included in U.S. mint sets. United States mint sets were first sold in 1947, and since 1959 the coins have been sealed in protective plastic. For the years 1965 through 1967 "Special U.S. Mint Sets" were made with higher than normal quality as a substitute for U.S. proof sets as none were issued for those years. The 1966 and 1967 special U.S. mint sets come in hard plastic holders. No United States mint sets were issued for 1950, 1982 or 1983, though the mints gift shops sold similar "souvenir" sets in 1982 and 1983. The 1975 United States mint sets contain the 1976 Bicentennial quarter through dollar since no 1975 coins were struck for those denominations.

Mint Products sells only official United States government issued and sealed U.S. mint sets of the best quality.
