2016 U.S. Centennial Gold Coins
The first of three Centennial Gold Coins being released by the U.S. Mint was the 2016-W Gold Mercury Dime. This dime was originally designed by Adolph A. Weinman as the Winged Liberty Dime. It's tenth ounce weight pays homage to the denomination of the dime. With a mintage of only 125,000, these coins sold out in less than one hour at the U.S. Mint!
The second release in the Centennial Series was the 2016-W Gold Standing Liberty Quarter. The coin is a beautiful 24k gold example of Hermon A. MacNeilís original design and is a quarter ounce in weight. With a mintage limit of 100,000, these coins are sure to be just as popular as the gold Mercury Dime!
The third and final issue of the Commemorative Gold Centennial Coins is the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Another Adolph A. Weinman design that is beautifully represented by a half ounce of 24k .9999 fine gold. The Gold Walking Liberty carries a mintage of only 75,000 - the least out of all the issues - and is sure to be just as popular at the original silver version!
