PRODUCT DETAILS:

2010 American Veterans Disabled for Life Commemorative Silver Dollar (Proof) - Gem Proof

COIN HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Contains .7734 oz of Silver.
  • Comes complete with its box and certificate of authenticity.
  • The obverse shows the legs and feet of three veterans, including crutches. Inscriptions include "THEY STOOD UP FOR US" in reference to the brave disabled veterans who have survived military service injuries protecting our freedom, as well as "IN GOD WE TRUST," "LIBERTY," the "W" mint mark and the date (2010).
  • The reverse features a wreath of oak leaves wrapped in ribbon with a forget-me-not flower at the bottom. Oak branches are widely seen as a symbol of strength and the forget-me-not has been used to remember those who fought and were disabled or did not survive since dating back to World War I. Reverse inscriptions include "Take This Moment to Honor Our Disabled Defenders of Freedom," UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "ONE DOLLAR".
  • Sovereign coin backed by the United States government with a face value of $1.00 (USD).

This coin was struck to commemorate those soldiers who fought and survived, but not without injury. A portion of the sales went to the Disabled Veterans LIFE Memorial Foundation to aid in the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial in Washington, D.C.

  • box and coin looked right from the mint
  • Purchased two of these. No visible defects. None! Brilliant luster. Gorgeous coins. Looks as if they just came from the U.S. Mint.
